Clubs

If your local wall is a club you can work as a team to create holds. A few people might do the printing, while others can do casting and surfacing. Another might yet do the base sanding. It’s a great way for the club to get together and make lots of holds for super cheap.

Schools

This program covers many different classes and results in students creating climbing holds for your school wall.

The program teaches 3D printing skills, importance of using appropriate PPE, use of workshop tools like belt sander and drill press.

Steps:

1. Each student chooses their hold to create
2. Print each hold
3. Prepare the hold for casting by tapping out the bolt shaft and glueing in the washer
4. Cast the hold with polyester resin
5. Texture using resin, sand and acrylic paint
6. Belt sand the base and drill out the bolt shaft plug.

These steps require time in between so it is perfect for multiple lessons across different classes.
